Here Are the 5 Eye Masks I Use to Help Me Sleep Like a Baby

The journey to a good night’s sleep is way more complex for me than it might be for other people. Not only did I make the rookie mistake of hanging light-filtering curtains in my sun-filled bedroom (they were on sale!), but I also have a bad habit of keeping my eyes glued to my phone during the wee hours of the morning. In addition to an overabundance of natural light and tendency to binge watch Game of Thrones from the comfort of my bed that prevent me from falling asleep, I also have a hard time staying asleep. I’ll also wake up randomly in the middle of the night and once my eyes fixate on the brightness of my wall clock, it can sometimes take hours for me to drift back into a deep sleep, which is why I decided to give eye masks a try—and got completely hooked.

I never thought I’d be the one to wear an eye mask on a regular basis—I always thought of them as doing a little too much—but they’ve been a saving grace for me in more ways than one. Of course some sleep problems require other kinds of treatment, but not only do I feel super fancy while I’m wearing an eye mask (I’m talking Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s fancy) but they actually do help me sleep by blocking out light. Admittedly, I may have gone a bit overboard on my collection because I now have enough to alternate every day of the work week, but when it comes to self-care, I’m willing to pull out all the stops (you should see my candle collection). Read on for a few of my favorite eye masks to wear for the most pleasant sleep ever.
